Sticking with a Nutritional Diet while Travelling
When travelling its easy to slip into bad ways as boredom sets in and the snack takes over. In airports, on trains and in cars the same problem applies. There’s just nothing to do!! So a trip along the airport concourse reveals shelves of chocolate, potato fries and biscuits. It’s just too much to resist. So keeping with the nutritional diet is difficult, with all that temptation in the way.
Nutritional food doesn’t have to be boring and in the same airport of highway convenience store there will be fruit tucked away somewhere. The reason it is tucked away is because everyone seems to want the chocolate and sweets – there’s more money to be made, in other words. If it’s not too obvious where the good stuff is then ask. Drinks are another item which shops want to sell – but mainly the nasty carbonated soft drinks which do more harm than good.
Try one of those pure orange drinks in the small carton. They have no added sugar and are high in vitamin C. There’s usually a choice of orange, apple, black current and if you are in Asia, then mangos teen features strongly on the roadside stalls. Fresh produce is always available on the roadside in places like Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Fresh pineapples, coconuts and devils fruit are there at a really low cost. In the United States there may well be orange stalls on the highways of California and in Europe markets in small towns have apples, pears and bananas. If you want to eat a nutritional diet whilst travelling there’s nothing really to stop you – it’s often just easier to pick up a packet of biscuits to while away the hours.
While we all recognise that it is very hard to diet while travelling, some of the more trendy luxury ski chalets in Europe offer their guests a package that includes a diet plan for those who would like to lose a few pounds while they are enjoying the slopes. This is actually quite a good strategy as the additional activity will also burn more calories as well.
When on holiday we often forget about how eat healthy and more often than not start pigging out on local foods and delicacies. When on a camping holidays for instance, it could be hard to eat nutritional foods, as there is nowhere to keep your food fresh enough. A lot of tinned food is consumed on these types of holidays.
